Boost child's immune system by healthy diet, enough sleep, physical activity, stress management, and infection prevention. Paediatric physiotherapy at Cura

In my career as a pediatric physiotherapist these are most Common questions parents ask me regarding boosting Child's Immune System :

  • Why often does my child get sick?
  • Does he or she have low immunity?
  • How to boost my child's immune system?

So here are the top 5 ways to boost Child's Immune System without any supplements.

  1. Give them enough healthy diet
  2. Proper sleep
  3. Get them active
  4. Manage stress and anxiety
  5. Prevent them from getting infection

Give them enough healthy diet to boost Child's Immune System :

Balanced diet for your child will help them to boost their immunity. To help your child eat well through every stage of growth and development, fill a significant portion of their daily plate with an array of colorful fruits and vegetables.

Proper sleep :

The amount of sleep your child needs depends on their age i.e from an average of 12-16 hours a day for infants to 8-10 hours for adolescents. Encourage healthy sleep habits by maintaining a regular schedule and shutting down screens at least 2 hours before bedtime.

Get them active to boost Child's Immune System:

Make sure your child is physically active which will directly help them to improve their immunity. Physical activity helps to increase the circulatory system, making it easier for immune cells and other infection-fighting molecules to travel throughout their body.

Manage stress and anxiety :

To reduce stress and bolster immunity, give your child plenty of downtime to play, engage in activities they like, and get together with people who make them happy. Spend time together as a family each day, and provide space for your child to talk about their worries and stresses.

Prevent them from getting infection :

Infection prevention strategies won’t technically build up your child’s immunity, but they can potentially reduce the amount of stress your child’s immune system experiences.

Facts based on earlier surveys:

As per the survey conducted across India in 2020, about 20 percent of respondents below the age of 19 years fell sick over two times a year, indicating low immunity levels.
