Physiotherapy employs varied equipment to reduce pain, enhance comfort, mobility, and strength, ultimately improving quality of life.

Physiotherapy is provided using different types of equipment to reduce the pain
and more comfort resulting in carrying out activities of daily living.

It varies accordingly patient’s need:

1) Exercise equipment: tools and machine used to carry out exercise in pain
free range and help to increase strength and ability to do daily activities
of living. These can be shoulder wheel, shoulder ladder, pulleys,
treadmill, exercising cycles, theraband, dumbbells, and therapy ball.

2) Hot & Cold equipment: Cryotherapy, heat therapy, Wax bath therapy
to manage pain and improve Mobility , increase blood flow to the area by
warming up the tissues.

3) Mobility equipment: Various mobility equipment are also used in
physical therapy treatments which help to improve mobility, strength,
balance and coordination. These can be Parallel bars, Walking canes,
Crutches like axillary crutches, platform crutches, and forearm crutches,
Walkers, wheelchair, etc.

4) External modality equipment: heat and cold modalities, pain relief
modalities, muscle re-education modality, wound healing modalities are
used to heal and treat the various conditions in physiotherapy. These can
be ultrasound, TENS, muscle stimulator, Laser, IFT, etc.

5) Orthotics and prosthesis: These are used to enable the person with
physical impairment to carry out activity independently. Prostheses is the
artificial limb and orthoses are the splints and braces used along with
physical therapy treatment to improve the lifestyle and movements of the
individuals.

6) Advanced Physiotherapy : Kinesiology tape, rigid tape, pro wraps, pedi wraps, spios, fabrifoam can be used to maintain the muscle tone, correct alignment,
improve body posture and awareness.

Using the equipment along with exercises in physical therapy treatment will
benefit the individual more and help to progress and get the better result.
