- Luteal phase (Day 15-28) : Unfertilized egg dissolves and lining of uterus continues to thicken

Women go through a lot during this cycle, some self-care tips that can be really helpful:
- Relax in a hot bath with aromatherapy oils.
- Cuddle a hot water bag
- Have a back and stomach massage.
- Wear loose fitting clothes couple of days prior to and during your period.
- Some gentle exercises such as yoga can be a great help. It helps in relaxing hte muscles and improve blood supply to pelvic region.
- Too much pain can be relieved by painkillers prescribed by your physician.

- Stop or cut down on smoking. Smoking increases the incidence of period pain by reducing the supply of oxygen to the pelvic region.
- Reduce alcohol consumption.
- Eat high fibre foods along with plenty of vegetables.
- Vitamin E supplements are a good source.
- Lean meat intake along with chicken and fish is healthy.
- Reduce the mount of salt in your diet to avoid water retention.
- Drink pure fruit juices rather than sugary drinks.
