Autism spectrum disorders are a developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world around them. This means while all the people with autism share certain difficulties, their condition will affect them in different ways.
There are 3 major domains under which the impairments are classified
- Social interaction
- Communication
- A markedly restricted repetitive activity and interests
Autism Signs and Symptoms
- Social communication and interaction,
- Restricted or Repetitive behaviors or interest.
- People with Autism Spectrum Disorder may also have different ways of learning, moving, or paying attention

Now let's try to understand symptoms:
Imagine you were in a foreign, crowded and noisy city at night, not understanding the language spoken , recognizing only a few words. but not really comprehending situations taking place around, wanting to express a need for help but not being able. this experience may begin to help you relate to what someone with autism feels on a day - today basis
There are various interventions that can be used while organizing a child with Autism.
- Providing and establishing a structured environment
- Making visual supports
- Sensory integration: tactile, proprioceptive, vestibular, auditory, visual, oromotor, olfactory systems
- Social stories
- Social scripts and power cards
- Special interests
- Relationship Development Intervention is a family-based behavioral treatment.
